2014, a new year

happy new year!

my resolution for this year is to learn to be more patient and not get frustrated with cairo and my love/hate relationship with it.  i also strive to have a wonderful first year of marriage and enjoy life with my best friend.  but my most important resolution is to have a more positive outlook on life, and really focus on all the good.  there is a whole lot of good going on in our lives, so this is not a difficult task.  but when i lose patience and get frustrated, i tend to stay negative and cynical.  it's a ny thing.  so this blog is meant to help me highlight the positive, see the good, and feel the happy.  i feel it working already.

i recently returned from a trip home to nyc/nj, where i picked up my wedding dress and the results of 2 months of online shopping for our honeymoon! thank you black friday sales! i was able to order bathing suits on clearance in october, lots of safari and beach clothes, a new camera, and misc. items thanks to the christmas sales.

one of our wedding gifts to each other is a new camera, fit for our safari honeymoon. i gave bib the task of finding us the best camera for our budget and needs, and he spent a week obsessively researching our options.  love being married to a geek.  since we're not professional photographers, and don't intend on lugging around a large camera and extra lens when we travel, he found the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 was our best camera. while i love taking photos, i really don't know a thing about photography (i guess i should learn). but apparently this camera has incredible zoom and a huge aperture so you can get great pictures on the safari.  this was a great black friday deal, i got to use my amex points on amazon!, and we got all the accessories to go with it.

since we celebrated new year's eve with his family at home, it gave us (really just him) the chance to set it up and test it out. now, mr. never-takes-pictures can only think in Panasonic and runs to the camera every minute he has a chance.  from now on, i'll hopefully be posting better quality pictures than the ones i've been posting.  like the one below...

can barely get his attention!

happy new year!  feel the happy.
