i know i'm really late on this post, seeing that king's day is jan 6th, but here it is!
every year on the epiphany, we celebrate kings day the french way. i make the galette de rois, which is a special cake that gets stuffed with a feve. the person who gets the piece with the feve is then crowned the king, and everyone has fun. i usually like to make a dinner party out of it, and host friends.
my grandmother always sends us a christmas package from france, and includes a galette mix. it's perfect for us because it comes with a feve and a crown included in the package, so we get everything we need. wouldn't be able to find this in nyc or egypt otherwise!
so i made the galette for bib's family and we celebrated. the feve was won by bib's father, and this year it was an angel.
