the whole week before our wedding was a party in itself. my parents and aunt and cousins arrived from abroad, and just about every night we'd all get together and do something as a family. whether it was something touristic, like the night we went out to khan al khalili, or chilling in a cafe, every night was fun.
a few days before the wedding, bib's parents hosted a huge family dinner for all of us. it was a great night for the families, but there was a surprise that none of us expected!
my oldest cousin sadly wasn't going to make it to the wedding because she couldn't get her kids out of school. we felt so guilty and terrible that she wasn't going to miss it, but she wanted to stay very involved in all the family events leading up to the wedding. so she suggested that we facetime her during the dinner, and we confirmed the time of the dinner to make sure it was all set.
we prepared ourselves and waited for some of the family members who were running late to start the dinner, and get her set up to "join" us. finally, the rest of our family arrived at bib's house. she was right on time for facetime. literally face to face. she walked through the door and i couldn't believe that she was there! all i know is that i yelled and cried, and the rest is history! the whole family was together and ready to celebrate our wedding!
